AC Express Trains (Fully Air Conditioned) of Northern Railway

Started Running on July 14 2014.

22461/22462 New Delhi – Katra (JK) – New Delhi Shree Shakti Superfast AC Express

Timetable and Days of Service:

• 22461 will leave New Delhi NDLS everyday at 1730 to arrive/depart Jammu Tawi at 0320/0330, Udhampur at 0430/0435 to arrive at Katra SVDK J&K at 0510 everyday.
• 22462 will leave Katra SVDK J&K everyday at 2255 to arrive/depart Udhampur at 2325/2328, Jammu Tawi at 0025/0035 to arrive at New Delhi NDLS at 1045 everyday.

Route and Stoppages : Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jaladhar Cantt, Pathankot, Jammu Tawi, Udhampur.

Composition: 01 AC First Class, 05 AC 2 tier, 09 AC 3 tier, 01 Pantry Car, 02 EOG (18 coaches) LHB train.

Connectivity of the rest of India with Jammu and Kashmir just got better with Katra getting its first regular express train, and it is only awesome that it is an AC Express connecting it to the capital of the country! Katra is the currently the northernmost railway station in India which is contiguously connected to the rest of the network, 78 km North of Jammu Tawi and also is the alighting station for the Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, Katra. Baramulla is the overall northernmost railway station in India but the line extends Southwards only until Behihal as of now, work is underway to connect it to Katra and the rest of India.

14606/14605 Amritsar – Lalkuan (UK) – Amritsar Weekly AC Express

Started running from October 02 2013.

Timings and Days of Service

• 14606 departs Amritsar Punjab every Wednesday at 0555 to reach Lalkuan Uttarakhand at 2050 the same day.
• 14605 will depart Lalkuan every Wednesday at 2315 to reach Amritsar at 1445 the next day Thursday.

Route and Stoppages: Beas, Jalandhar City, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Ambala Cantt., Saharanpur, Laksar, Najibabad, Moradabad

Composition: Thirteen (13) AC 3tier Coaches, 3 AC Chair Cars

Will utilize one of the rakes of the Amritsar – Saharsa Garib Rath. Wonder why it was not announced as a Garib Rath. Politics?

New Superfast Express Trains of Northern Railway

Started running from November 16 2013.

12411/12412 Chandigarh – Amritsar – Chandigarh Daily Superfast Intercity Express

Timetable and Days of Operation

• 12411 will depart Chandigarh at 0730 everyday to arrive at Amritsar at 1155.
• 12412 will depart Amritsar at 1405 everyday to arrive at Chandigarh at 1830.

Route and Stoppages: Sahibzada Ajitsingh Nagar Mohali, Ludhiana, Jalandhar City, Beas.

Composition: ONE AC Chair Car, 6 Second Sitting Chair Cars, 6 General Second Class, 2 SLR

22456/22455 Kalka – Sai Nagar Shirdi – Kalka Bi-Weekly Superfast Express

Train started running on October 06 2013.

• 22456 will leave Kalka every Thu, Sun at 1900 to arrive at Sai Nagar Shirdi at 2215 the next day. Arrives/Departs New Delhi at 2330/2355, Bhopal at 1030/1045
• 22455 will leave Sainagar Shirdi every Sat, Tue at 0925 to arrive at Kalka at 1230 the next day. Arrives/Departs Bhopal at 2030/2035 and New Delhi at 0735/0750

• 14052 will depart Jammu Tawi every Friday at 2325 to arrive at Bhatinda the next day Saturday at 1020

Funny small train with an even funnier route. Goes on a Punjab darshan before proceeding to Jammu.
