New Trains & Timetable 2014-15: Northeast Frontier Railway

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) serves parts of West Bengal and all of the North East of the country, the very frontier of the Indian Railways and is home to some of the most late-running trains in the country. NFR has announced the new railway timetable for 2014-15. Many trains have been slowed down considerably, maybe to reduce late running. NOTE: Premium trains mentioned here do not run regularly like other trains, only when there is demand, dates which will be notified. Click on the train number to know dates of run.
All details like timetable, days of operation, composition, route and stoppages and dates of introduction of these trains will be announced later. (Will be updated here).

New Premium Express Trains Operated by NFR in the 2014-15 Timetable:
12503/12504 Guwahati Kamakhya – New Delhi – Kamakhya Weekly AC Premium Express (NFR)
12528 /12527 Guwahati Kamakhya – Chennai Central – Kamakhya Weekly AC Premium Express (NFR)
Inaugural run over. Days of regular run will be notified as per demand.
- 12528 AC Premium Express will run from Guwahati Kamakhya KYQ to Chennai Central MAS on Wednesdays. Timetable: Departs KYQ: 2030 (Wed), NJP: 0245 (Thu), HWH: 1240, BBS: 1950, VSKP: 0230 (Fri), BZA: 0800, arrives MAS: 1425 (Fri).
- 12527 AC Premium Express will run from Chennai Central MAS to Guwahati Kamakhya KYQ on Saturdays. Timetable: Departs MAS: 1720 (Sat), BZA: 2355, VSKP: 0535 (Sun), BBS: 1150, HWH: 1850 (Sun), NJP: 0425 (Mon), arrives KYQ: 1125 (Mon).
Composition: 04 AC 2 tier, 10 AC 3 tier, 01 AC Pantry Car, 02 EOGs (17 coaches)
Route and Stoppages: New Jalpaiguri, Howrah, Bhubaneswar, Vishakhapatnam, Vijayawada.

22504/22503 Guwahati Kamakhya – Bangalore Cantonment – Kamakhya Weekly Premium Express (NFR)

- 22504 Premium Express will run from Guwahati Kamakhya KYQ to Bangalore Cantonment BNC on Tuesdays. Timetable: Departs KYQ: 2030, NJP: 0245 (Wed), HWH: 1240, BBS: 1915, BZA: 0800 (Thu), MAS: 1515, arrives BNC: 2115 (Thu).
- 22503 Premium Express will run from Bangalore Cantonment BNC to Guwahati Kamakhya KYQ on Fridays. Timetable: Departs BNC: 1015 (Fri), MAS: 1625, BZA: 2355, BBS: 1150 (Sat), HWH: 1850, NJP: 0425 (Sun), arrives KYQ: 1115 (Sun).
Composition: 04 AC 2 tier, 05 AC 3 tier, 08 Sleeper Class Coaches, 01 Pantry Car, 02 SLRs (20 coaches).
Route and Stoppages: New Jalpaiguri, Howrah, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, Chennai Central.
Type: Premium | Fare: Premium | Distance: 2977 | Halts: 5 | Time: 2d45m/2d1h10m | Speed: 61/60
Train Verdict: The second longest premium train and second fastest between Bangalore and Kolkata after the Duronto. Good speed and great runs, will run full throughout the year for sure, connecting the Northeast, Kolkata and the entire eastern coast with Chennai and Bangalore. Convenient timings at KYQ and between MAS and HWH as well. The only question is whether it will run on time.

22412/22411 New Delhi – Naharlagun – New Delhi Weekly AC SF Express (NR)
- 22412 NHLN AC Express from New Delhi NDLS to Naharlagun Itanagar Arunachal Pradesh will run on all Sundays. Timetable: Departs NDLS 1550 (Sun), CNB: 2055, LKO: 2225, GKP: 0325 (Mon), CPR: 0650, BJU: 0950, KIR: 1320, NJP: 1710, RNY: 2340, RPAN: 0300 (Tue), HMY: 0533, arrives NHLN 0635 (Tue).
- 22411 NDLS AC Express from Naharlagun NHLN Itanagar Arunachal Pradesh to New Delhi NDLS will run on Tuesdays. Schedule: Departs NHLN 2110 (Tue), HMY: 2135, RPAN: 0020 (Wed), RNY: 0305, NJP: 1010, KIR: 1340, BJU: 1630, SV: 2040, GKP: 2310, LKO: 0420 (Thu), CNB: 0620, arrives NDLS 1140 (Thu).

Train Verdict: One among the two first trains to Arunachal Pradesh, ever! And that too a AC superfast, and hopefully the future Arunachal Rajdhani! Good enough speed, limited stoppages and overall, nice! 🙂
15617/15618 Guwahati – Naharlagun – Guwahati Daily Express (NFR)
Started Running from February 20 2015.

- 15614 Guwahati Express from Murkeongselek MZS to Guwahati GHY will run everyday in both directions. Timings: Departs MZS: 2300, DMC: 0035, NLP: 0205, HML: 0407, RPAN: 0625, TNL: 0843, RNY: 1025, arrives GHY: 1230.

Train Verdict: Trains return to upper Assam after a gap of 4 years! IR completed the 450 km gauge conversion from MG to BG in just 4 years, which would be some sort of a record! This train will be speeded up later after the track stabilizes. Happy traveling, Assam peoples! 🙂
