Summer Special Trains 2014 from Karnataka (SWR)

Summer Special trains run by South Western Railway zone of Indian Railways from Bangalore through the state of Karnataka during the summer holiday months of 2014 (March, April, May, June). This includes a huge surprise in the form of a Yeshwantpur – Mumbai CST special train, two special trains between Yeshwantpur and Miraj in neighboring Maharashtara, one between Bangalore and Goa and three different weekly special trains between Yeshwantpur and Jaipur including a premium train. Somehow it looks like SWR has a fetish for Yeshwantpur – Jaipur specials. Here are the trains. Click on the train number to view detailed timetable.

02695/02696 Bangalore Yeshwantpur – Jaipur – Yeshwantpur Premium Superfast Summer Specials (SWR)

SWR seems to be in love with the Yeshwantpur – Jaipur route. Here is their first “Premium” service (with airline-like dynamic pricing, no refunds etc) which runs on the same route as the express special but with different timings. However, not having much stops at important stations like Guntakal, Gulbarga, Solapur, Vasai Road, Vadodara, Ratlam and Chittaurgarh might defeat its purpose. Expect addition. Very small train.

06511/06512 Bangalore Yeshwantpur – Jaipur – Yeshwantpur Weekly Express Special (SWR)

UPDATE: It will not get regularized (yet) but will continue running using a conventional rake of one 3 AC and 11 Sleeper Coaches from April 20. Bye bye SWR’s one legendary Garib Rath rake! :'(
